A lot has changed since the start of this journey on 9/9/2022. Richard was supposed to get help from his lawyer and instead, he almost got him 5 years in prison for assuming his guilt prior to sentencing. Luckily after talking to the DA he was sentenced to only 3 years.
Richard will be home by April 8, give or take. That date can be lengthened or shortened as it had been before. I originally thought he'd be home in a year and instead, he will serve a year and 7 months if he comes home on that date. It is wild to think that he is surrounded by men who will serve 10 to 20 years to life in prison. Some men even are getting released who plan to get in trouble prior to that date so they can stay in a stable place. Richard will meet with his Parole office any day to go over the requirements of his program. I can't help but daydream of the day I get the phone call to pick him up. We are praying he will be paroled from Chuckawalla Valley State Prison since it is the nicest facility he has been to out of the 4 including one jail.
